Consumers want to live more sustainably by consuming products and services which tread ‘lightly’ on the environment.
Consumer awareness of environmental issues has proliferated in recent times. As we move to a more carbon-constrained world, progressive operators are adopting a company-wide emphasis on sustainability.
Braiform is constantly striving to research and work with renewable and biodegradable materials. Central to our environmental commitment is Braiform’s reuse facilities in the USA, UK, Australia and China. In the early 1990’s Braiform developed reusable hangers capable of handling multiple trips though the supply chain. Over the past decade, our reuse facilities have processed more than eight billion garment hangers.
We aim to minimise any impact on the environment by:
- taking action to eliminate or reduce as far as practically possible, any potentially adverse environmental impacts
- promoting environmental awareness amongst suppliers, contractors and partners
- ensuring the effective and expedient incidental control, investigation, reporting and corrective actions
- complying with relevant legislation especially regarding the use of heavy metals and other restrictive substances.
Braiform’s reuse facilities promote these practices as well as preserve new resources. We do this by sorting and recycling products to acceptable quality standards, granulating rejected product and utilising this material in our new product production. In addition we recycle both metal components and cardboard connected with the operation.
